Corrections Policy
Last updated: January 24, 2026
MeridAIn is committed to accuracy in journalism. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. This policy outlines how we handle errors and corrections.
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
As an AI-powered news platform, we understand that automated content generation creates unique challenges for accuracy. We are committed to:
- Verifying information through multiple sources before publication
- Using credibility scoring to flag potentially uncertain claims
- Responding quickly to reader-reported errors
- Being transparent about corrections and their scope
2. Types of Corrections
2.1 Minor Corrections
Minor corrections include typos, grammatical errors, or minor factual clarifications that do not materially change the meaning or conclusions of an article. These are:
- Fixed silently within the article
- Not announced with a correction notice
- Logged internally for quality tracking
2.2 Significant Corrections
Significant corrections involve factual errors that could mislead readers or affect their understanding of the topic. These are:
- Marked with a visible correction notice at the top of the article
- Listed in our public corrections log
- Include the date, original error, and correction
2.3 Retractions
In rare cases where an article contains fundamental errors that cannot be corrected, or where the article should not have been published, we may retract it entirely:
- The article is removed or replaced with a retraction notice
- The reason for retraction is explained
- The retraction is logged publicly
3. AI-Specific Considerations
AI Content Disclaimer:
Our articles are curated by our AI Editor-in-Chief and may contain errors despite verification. We take extra care to review AI-curated content, but automated systems can produce inaccuracies. We encourage readers to report any errors they find.
When correcting AI-curated content, we also:
- Investigate whether the error pattern affects other articles
- Adjust our AI prompts and verification processes to prevent similar errors
- Note when corrections relate to AI curation limitations
4. How to Report an Error
We welcome reader feedback and error reports. To report an error:
- Report Button: Use the "Report Issue" button on any article page
- Contact Form: Submit a report through our contact form
Please include:
- The article URL or title
- The specific error you found
- Any supporting information or correct information if known
5. Correction Timeline
We aim to process corrections according to the following timeline:
- Acknowledgment: Within 24 hours of receiving a report
- Minor corrections: Within 48 hours
- Significant corrections: Within 72 hours, or immediately if the error is serious
- Complex issues: We will communicate expected timelines
6. Transparency Commitment
We maintain a public corrections log where all significant corrections are recorded. This log includes:
- Date of correction
- Affected article
- Description of the error
- Nature of the correction
7. Editorial Independence
Our corrections policy applies equally to all content, regardless of topic or source. Corrections are made based on factual accuracy, not external pressure. We will not remove accurate information simply because someone disagrees with it.
